My name is Alyson and I am a spray paint addict…..
If you’ve dabbled in spray paint, I’m pretty sure you join me in my above statement.
The spray paint medium simply creates endless possibilities.
I have a fabulous junk shop around the corner from me. I have found lots of treasures there, many of which have fallen victim to my addiction. I found a slightly beat up 2’ x 5’ mirror there. I brought it home, taped it off and sprayed it a matte black. It leans in my bedroom and gets constant compliments. I paid $20 for the mirror. Now it’s fabulous.
When I re-did my daughter’s room in a muted blue & brown, I sprayed her target desk & hutch in brown and then stenciled silver paisleys on it. I have a tiny kid-sized picnic table from when my girls were young. It has been all the colors of the rainbow. Last year, instead of handing it down to someone with little ones, I sprayed it again and drilled a hole for an umbrella in the center. It now lives between two lounge chairs in it’s new cherry red coat. My list is endless!
Do you have a set of candle sticks or some frames that just don’t do it for you anymore? A few stools at your kitchen island that could use a facelift? Break out the spray paint! Do several light coats, leaving plenty of drying time in between and keep your hand steady & 8-12 inches away from your target. The “Snap & Spray” pictured below is an amazing, inexpensive and very helpful tool as well. Tape off all areas you do not wish to paint and give it a try!
