I feel like I should channel Julie Andrews for this post and start singing “These are a few of my favorite things…” Previously I’ve admitted being a Pinterest addict. I am amazed at all the ideas I can read about (and how many I intend to do/try/buy…and then don’t). Periodically, I do go back through my boards and come across an idea or product that will be perfect for a project I am currently doing. Here are a few things that make me happy!
Don’t you love a freshly painted room with no dings, scratches or chips? Me too. But that Honeymoon period is pretty short lived in my home. So having a touch up ready tool filled with the paint for each room (and neatly labeled, of course) really helps keeping your rooms looking ship-shape much longer. The Shur-Line Touch Up Painter does just that-provided you do the filling and labeling!
In that same vein, I always have spackle on hand. This one is my favorite:
Repairing wall damage, old nail holes or whatever your family brings on is a snap when this is on hand. I love the fun feature of it going on the wall pink and turning white when it’s dry. I then whip out my touch up painter and voila! The wall is good as new! Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that make the biggest difference!
Another of these simple things is a double ended extension cord. Why would I need one of those, you ask? End table lamps, window candles at Christmastime…really the uses are endless.
I love painting things, so I am often replacing knobs on furniture or cabinets. If the piece is old, often the knob width is different from what is currently in fashion, so I need to fill the holes and drill new ones. This handy little template makes getting the new holes even and level a breeze.
If you love fabric and are overly practical like me, Never Wet may be for you. While it will not protect against fading, it will add amazing durability to your fabrics, shoes, jackets…you name it. I wish I had invented it!
I hope some of these enter your life and make it easier as they have mine! Do you have some favorite things you’d like to share with the class? I sure would love it!
Have a beautiful day! ~Alyson
Great ideas!!!
Thank you, Kate!
