You are familiar the saying “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”, I am sure. My friend Jill and I live by this mantra, and have an awful lot of fun doing it! I wish I had a before pic, but alas, I do not. So I will just share the end result of some junk store shopping and trash picking that turned out exceptionally well!
The story on this grouping is that Jill found this dresser in someone’s trash. Seriously. It did need a good amount of love, and at first Jill attempted stripping it and staining it, but the veneer on top just wouldn’t cooperate with that plan. So painting seemed the next best option. Then she found the chair and empty frame at our local “antiques” store. Jill had the chair re-upholstered and painted the frame to match the dresser. The space was really coming along! But what wound up really setting off the whole scene were these three birds we found at Cargo Gardens. We played with their arrangement a bit but landed (haha) on having one flying outside the box! I think this makes her upstairs hallway fun and interesting, don’t you? Doesn’t it just make you want to go out and find treasure?
