Quick little tip today-I want you to straighten all the art hanging in your space. It is a simple thing to do that makes a HUGE difference. I do think this is somewhat of an OCD issue for me. I found myself fixing the promotional pictures at the Acura dealer while waiting for my car to be serviced. And then at my friend’s home for lunch. And at my mom’s house. The list could continue, but I will spare you.
You only need 2 things: a level and mounting putty. Back in the day we called this stuff Fun Tack & it was blue. In my search today I found out Fun Tack still exists! But I am being fair, Scotch Mounting Putty is what is in my tool kit and is what I use.
It’s pretty simple, go from room to room, using the level to straighten each piece out and the mounting putty underneath the bottom of each piece to keep it nice and straight. I know. It almost seems too simple to use as a blog post, but I cannot tell you how many places I have been where this simple trick could change everything. Provided you’ve hung your “art” at the right height, having it straight will make it look professionally hung. If you’d like some advice about hanging art, My Domaine has some GREAT advice.
Have a beautiful day! And go straighten some stuff out! ~Alyson
