I haven’t stopped my planning in my daughter’s room, but have had travel plans etc., come between me and some real progress. Nevertheless, I will move forward at my snail’s pace and be okay with it!
This is the current layout of my daughter’s room. It’s not huge, but we currently have furniture in there that is not only bigger than need be, but is also dark and bulky, which adds visual weight.
When last we did my daughter’s room, she chose a dark brown storage bed. To me, it looks masculine as well as bulky. So when I saw a beautiful bed frame on LetGo last summer, I jumped at it…and it has been sitting in my garage ever since. You see, my gal loves her bed, so I have been torn between that and the fact that I’d love to give her a really pretty new room! She’s off at school & I think feels like if I re-do it, I am kicking her out, which couldn’t be further from the truth! The current bed looks SOMETHING like this, only nowhere as neatly kept:
As you saw from my planning post, I’m going in a lighter and brighter direction. I’m not married to it, but I am also considering moving things around and adding a second night stand (It is my own personal thing that I feel all beds should have 2 night stands), changing the desk to one with more storage and replacing the dresser with something longer. If I were to do that, I may try one of these layouts:
Or Maybe keep the layout relatively similar but simply use different furniture pieces:
That’s where my head is currently, in case you were wondering!
And on the subject of wondering….I also, have an update on the “Mystery Ottoman”! My next door neighbor, Ivan is my surprise gift-giver! Thank you, Ivan!
