Hello! Happy new year to you all! I decided to take all of January off from blogging, which was a tough choice for me. I had finally gotten some consistency and then “blew it” because my life got a little chaotic…However, I’ve decided for the new year I am going to try and give up my “all or nothing” mentality. All I can say is that we shall see how it goes.
I have been trying a few other new things in the new year as well. I am participating in something called “The
100 Day Project”. I began on January 21 doing one creative thing each day. Wow. It is ROUGH. I am creative, but I am not an artist, and I don’t sew or knit…so it has been a challenge. However, I’m really enjoying the challenge. Check out the site and consider trying it next time! This one also falls under the category of “we shall see”. Each day I post my day’s accomplishment on instagram, feel free to follow along! And I am totally fine with you cringing at my failures-there’s simply no way I will create masterpieces every day for 100 days! As if by magic, a woman on one of my Facebook groups offered 1 hour private art lessons to honor her father, who recently passed and to whom art was very important. I am thrilled to be able to learn a few skills and to be a part of such a wonderful mission to honor her dad.
I am also following Peter Walsh’s 31 Days to get Organized. It ends 1/31, but I think I am going to go back and check out previous year’s organizing projects (and do the assignments that didn’t get done this month, let’s be real). This has made me feel fantastic. My home is now clear of expired medications, my linen closets look fabulous and I literally feel lighter. How amazing is that? Seriously check this out. You can follow Peter Walsh on Facebook as well. He’s beyond inspirational.
What are you trying for the new year? You may have noticed I did not refer to any of my new things as resolutions. There are just too many negative connotations connected with the word. I’m simply trying new things. And I think you should too!
