In my travels I run across 2 groups of people: Pinterest addicts and people who don’t get how to use Pinterest and therefore don’t grasp it’s fabulousness. And trust me, it is fabulous.
For me, I use Pinterest daily in my work and in my daily life. When you log in, you initially see a feed that is customized to you based on what boards/”pinners” you follow as well as things Pinterest feels may interest you. Here’s a screenshot of my feed this morning:
For my design business, Pinterest helps me keep track of things I wish to use in a presentation or purchase for a client. I have boards of products I love and use consistently, as well as photos of rooms that spark design ideas for me. My Pinterest boards for my design business are here. One of the things I love about Pinterest is that you can share a board with another person or a group. It allows you to work toward a common goal together and keep all the materials in one place.
In my day to day life, I pin workouts, recipes, motivational quotes, DIY ideas and of course design inspiration-that crossover was inevitable! You can see these boards as well if you’d like!
So my thought for today was to include some Pinterest instruction for you. Since it has already been done, I have chosen not to reinvent the wheel. I have found written instructions from RealSimple.com as well as a YouTube tutorial from An Exercise in Frugality. I recommend viewing the written instructions first, as it tells you how to set up your account and then follow it with the video.
Are you game? I know you will love Pinterest if you give it a try. And hey! I am here to help if you get stuck! I can’t wait to see what you pin!
